Learn @ Home, @ Work, @ Play.Each booklet contains 25 useful signs and come with Learn At Series Bookletan illustration and a description of how to execute the sign, as well as a brief overview about NZSL Week, and some handy tips for communicating with Deaf people.

Ever wanted to know some signs you can use at home? Well, here’s your chance to learn 25 words in NZ Sign Language. These are sure to come in useful!

Bath: It’s bath time now

BBQ: I’m having a BBQ tomorrow

Brush teeth: Have you brushed your teeth?

Children: My sister has 2 childrenBBQ

Cold: It’s a bit cold!

Drink: What would you like to drink?

Eat/Food: I love eating cake / I don’t like food shopping

Family/Whanau: I have a big family

Father: My father works in the factory

Fridge: Please put that back in the fridge

Friend: Invite your friends over

Garden: You have a lovely garden

House: I have a blue house

Kitchen/Cook: Please help me clean the kitchen/I love Cooking Asian food

Lights: I will turn off the lights

Mother: My mother works from homeMother

Pet: I have 3 pets

Play: You can play on the computer for one hour

Room: My house has 4 bedrooms

Sleep (bed): She goes to sleep at 8pm

Table: Please set the table

Television: I love watching television

Toilet: Have you been to the toilet?

Toys: Please put away your toys

Want: Do you want something to eat?
