Metiria Turei with a message to the Deaf community

With current polling, the Green Party's Mojo Mathers would become new Zealand's first deaf MP at Novembers election and Parliament would adapt to using sign language — one of our three official languages.

In this clip, Green Party Co-leader Metiria Turei and sign language translator Jenn Gilbert sign about the party and the coming possibilities.

  • Ooooh, tempting. If I was still living in NZ, I'd vote for Greens! However, what plans or proposals does this Party have for us? More information in NZSL would be neat!
