DeafView 3 in WELLINGTON!
Exciting news - Wellington will be hosting the Deaf View III Conference in October or November 2012. Joanne Becker and Theresa Cooper are co-chairing the Committee. We are looking for 6-10 members to be on the committee. The committee will be responsible for organising the Conference, such as:
- theme
- dates
- venue
- keynote speakers
- programme
- and much more.
First meeting will be in mid-November. Meetings will be held monthly, then closer to the time fortnightly, then weekly. At this meeting we will brainstorm, set a theme and possible date.
We need people who are:
- committed
- motivated
- full of ideas
- in Wellington for the duration of the committee meetings
- and willing to take part in the Conference to make sure it all runs smoothly.
You interested in being on the committee? Please email Joanne and Theresa at deafview3@deaf.org.nz.
Important - Community Goals
Deaf Aotearoa has their next BGM (Biennial General Meeting) meeting coming up on 12th November 2011. The Executive Board is keen to review the Community Goals. These goals are valuable and important for every one of us in the Community, not just Deaf Aotearoa. I will be setting up some meetings within the next 3 weeks to allow you all to have your input.
